As a full time professional real estate agent, I pride myself on offering superior personal service before, during and after your transaction. Knowledge, commitment, honesty, expertise and professionalism are the cornerstone of my business. Let me earn your trust, your business and most importantly your friendship. Don’t make another move without me. I guarantee you will see the difference quality service makes. I look forward to working with you!

MY BIO ...

My interest in real estate started back when I was a young girl and my mother would take me to tour model homes. How I loved the architecture and decorating and all the possibilities! So it was a natural thing to buy homes and start a career as a real estate investor.

From this investor side sprung a Short Sale processing company. As investors, we like thinking “outside of the box” and coming up with creative solutions, so we were willing to tackle the most difficult transactions, i.e. Short Sales. It didn’t take long to discover that we had a “knack” for processing and getting our way with the banks. So with our tenacity (plus our compassion), we found our niche by helping homeowners and assisting their agents to get their short sales approved.

I am a native California girl – growing up in Anaheim – and after college on the east coast, have been firmly planted for the past 30 years in South Orange County (which I love!). I currently live in the Lake Forest Keys neighborhood, which is by far my favorite place (& a great place to unwind after work … floating on a boat with a glass of wine!)

My strengths are more administrative in nature, (I call myself the “wife of the company” … which means I do it all!) Systems and order make me happy. I love technology but it is also my curse as technology comes naturally, so I am always called on to fix things. I also love helping people discover their passion. I can be a bit anal, overly detail-oriented and sometimes my list runs my life!

I am happily married with 5 kids (his, hers, ours & theirs) plus I also have a very spoiled Coton de Tulear named Cooper. When I am not working (although I will admit building my business IS my hobby!), I enjoy movies, theater, “culinary adventures” and traveling. I am also a lifelong learner and admitted book & computer nerd.

I AM …

Even tempered, detail oriented and compassionate.

MY PROUDEST MOMENT …

Raising (and homeschooling!) my four children.

MY BIGGEST CHALLENGE …

Choosing a restaurant.

MY ALARM CLOCK …

5:15 a.m.

MY PERFECT DAY …

Staying on schedule and getting to cross a lot of things off of my list.

MY FIRST JOB …

Scooping ice cream.

MY SUPER HERO POWER …

The ability to see both sides of a story. And a supernatural sweet tooth.

MY FAVORITE ORANGE COUNTY NEIGHBORHOOD …

My neighborhood … Lake Forest Keys.

MY INSPIRATION …

My foundation is my family and my faith.

My motto is to always be kind and do the right thing.

My mantra is “dream, do and don’t give up”.

WHY I LOVE

NEXTHOME COASTAL …

Progressive and innovative … yet personal and collaborative.

MY BIO ...

I grew up in a sports heavy family where the weekends were spent either at a baseball tournament or on the gridiron playing Peewee football. I remember being dragged to T-ball sign ups as a kid and DID NOT want to play. But I am so glad my parents forced me to try it because with some hard work, I was able to earn a full scholarship.

Looking back on it, if I had not played that season, who knows if I would be where I am today. A lot of my characteristics today were developed through playing sports my entire life. The hatred of losing and never quit attitude has translated into my real estate career seamlessly. Being able to get my clients offers accepted over my competition is a great feeling and being able to go the extra mile to show my clients in a great light at times makes a huge difference. My tenacity to get the best deal for my client is largely dedicated to my roots of having played sports my entire life.

And of course I still follow sports closely! So if you ever want to go check out the Angels, Chargers, Ducks or Trojans, just let me know!

Expertise Types: Condominiums, Foreclosure, Manufactured Homes, Mobile Homes, Residential, Short Sale, Single Family Homes, Townhomes

I AM …

Trustworthy, patient & understanding. I tend to be an optimist and always look at the bright side of a situation. I like being a resource to people whether it’s about real estate or even what Netflix show you should binge watch next. Being helpful runs deep in my blood and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

MY PROUDEST MOMENT …

Receiving a full scholarship to continue my dream of playing baseball at the Division 1 level. Even though I didn’t make it to the big leagues, it was a fun ride.

MY ALARM CLOCK …

MY PERFECT DAY …

Handing over the keys to a first-time homeowner, after a successful transaction and then celebrating with some all-you-can-eat sushi! Yummmm

MY FIRST JOB …

I worked on a Christmas tree farm right down the street from my house. It was surprisingly a very cool job! I wanted to make some cash to buy some gifts for family members during the holidays and ended up saving enough to get a little something for myself!

MY SUPER HERO POWER …

Being a master chef on the grill! My Rib Eye and Salmon combo on our Sunday family dinners are my favorite. Especially with an IPA in hand!

MY FAVORITE ORANGE COUNTY NEIGHBORHOOD …

Where I live - East Costa Mesa! The sunset bike rides we often go on through the community are a real treat. Everyone is so friendly!

I was born and raised in Lebanon and live there until I was 16.  In 1995 I got married and came to Los Angeles, CA then moved to Garden Grove.  After I had finished my high school diploma, I studied to become a Dental Assistant.  Because I am clumsy, I always poked myself, so I decided it was saver to work as a front office receptionist at the dental office.  Years past, and I advanced to being an office manager.  Eventually, my marriage ended but I am grateful to have my 2 beautiful children.  At that time, I moved to Irvine and have been here ever since!  I finished my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, while working full time and raising 2 young children.  In 2008, I met the love of my life - my current husband and we have been happy ever since and have 1 daughter together.  As my kids grew, I got my Real Estate License in 2009 so that I could work from home and raise my little one.  Now since my youngest is older and independent, I decided to focus on building my business in Real Estate further.  I focus on helping others achieve their dreams - becoming part of their family - to help them make the best choice in their life!  Buying and/or selling Real Estate is the greatest investment anyone could make, ensuring a beautiful retirement and securing a strong investment for themselves and their kids. My hobbies are to read, travel with family, explore the world, and spend time with family.

Personal Bio...

I am a transplant from Washington State.  I have two degrees from Washington State University, Business and Sociology.  My family migrated here from Vietnam in 1979 when I was four.  I remember very little, mostly building sandcastles on the beaches of a Malaysian Refugee Camp as we waited sponsorship to the United States.  We lived on canned sardines for eight months! The first year in The USA was extremely difficult.  My parents held 5 jobs simultaneously.  In hindsight, it’s baffling their lengthy list of accomplishments considering the mounting pressures in creating a world of freedom and prosperity for my older sister and I.  Within 2 years, they purchased their first home and owned two cars! When life’s struggles seem to pin me down, I think about my parents’ perseverance and apply it to my own daily life.  Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.  It drives me personally and professionally.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS HAVE TO SAY

At first, I contacted Bryan to help me find a home for purchase. From the first day I contacted him, I knew he would work his hardest to find me a place that would make me and my kids happy. Bryan listened and took into consideration everything I needed. After a few weeks, I changed gears and looked into places to rent. Bryan would notify me of places available and within a week he found a place for me. He worked with the listing agent to set up a time for us to meet and I was signing lease papers 2 days later! I'm extremely thankful I had his help and will definitely use him in my future real estate needs.

-Noel Cantrell, Staff Analyst

I have done business with several brokers in the past and I have never been as happy as when I had the pleasure of meeting Marlene Waterhouse.

I was in a difficult and stressful situation. I was involved in a 1031 exchange where I had sold an apartment building in West L.A. and had 45 days to find a replacement property. The previous realtor I worked with had given me the address of 7 properties, told me to go and take a look from the outside and asked me to call him back if I found anything I liked and wanted him to write an offer!

Nothing met my qualifications and I was getting pretty desperate.

By chance, I saw Marlene's company advertised on the Internet. I explained my situation to her. She immediately explained to the clients she was working with that she had a situation that required immediate attention. She didn't waste any time, and after finding out what my requirement were, she started looking for a lot of properties within my price range.

Marlene had a lot of patience with me and constantly reassured me that we would find just what I wanted. She personally took me around, showed me several houses and condos and before the deadline, managed to find me 2 beautiful properties and write offers that were accepted.

I consider Marlene highly professional, patient and sweet. On a scale of 1  to 10, she rates 100!

-Irene D. Soumakian, Retired High School Principal

She and her team took care of everything! Over the course of the transaction, she was able to keep in constant contact with me and give me updates. I would highly recommend her for anyone needing to either downsize or sell a home!
