You may be scratching your head thinking, “what is a rain chain?” They are not only beautiful but functional!
The origin of the rain chain is traced back to Japan, where they are called “Kusari doi”, which translates to “chain gutter”. And that is exactly what they are!
They are attached the the eves or the gutters of your home and function a lot like rain spouts; the rain travels down them and runs into a basin for rain collection or onto the ground where it can safely roll away from the home.
Rain chains are traditionally made of chain or rings but can be made of all sorts of fun and beautiful materials! Maybe consider installing a few of these around your house and enjoy the unique sounds and beautiful look!
